Survival Game
This is a survival game which uses the pyramid discussion structure. Before handing out the w/s I brainstorm ´survival´ to generate some vocab on the subject (ie, torch, matches, food etc)on the board and then ask ss in what kind of situation you might need such items (elicit camping, mountain, desert).
The student first does the task alone. Then in a pair and finally in a group. Each time the students must decide on 7 items that are necessary for survival/rescue. This requires them to argue for/against why this item is necessary for survival. Usually gets a little heated! Finally, compare each groups answers at the end asking them for the reasons why they chose the items they did.
