Using authentic material is an interesting way to present our students actual everyday language just as it appears in real life and sitcoms, like any piece of authentic material, give us countless possibilities to do it. I think it is important as a teacher to keep in mind what the purpose of the activity is and to relate it to the content of the unit in the students’ book you are working with so that students have a context and thus practice, reinforce or introduce either vocabulary, a grammar structure or comprehension in general. In this task I am going to present how I would use the clip Bedtime for Bonzo, part 2/3 of the British sitcom, 2 point 4 children, with my 4th ESO students after a unit in which we have been learning how to talk about our health and how we feel .
