EXERCISE 1 TO PRACTICE THE VERBS FROM THE
In this exercise Ss have to decide if the "-ED" is pronounced /t/, /d/ or /Id/. All of the verbs from the worksheet called PRONUNCIATION OF -ED- IN 3 EASY RULES are used in this exercise. The worksheet can be used for self assessment, quiz, homework assignment, as a group activity or even a competition game if you write the -ed- pronunciation symbols on the board. For this last activity, Ss can make 2 or 3 lines. T pronounces the verbs in past tense, and Ss have to run to the board to put one hand above or under the symbol that represents the pronunciation. Instead of using their hands, you could give Ss fly swatters. The first one to hit the symbol is the winner. The pronunciation rules are explained here:
