Types of Nouns Go Fish
Directions: Give each student a set of flash cards which have common nouns, proper nouns, and pronouns on each card. Students will cut up the cards and create a playing deck with them. Students will take turns asking their partners “Do you have a common noun?”, if they say yes, the partner gives him/her the card, if not, they say “Go Fish!” Partners take turns, in this pattern. The first person to run out of cards wins! (Each type of noun is highlighted in a different color for lower level students to see the commonalities between the words, but this could be changed for higher level students.
