Are you going to the library to study Math?
Goals of this activity:
- practice reading
- building sentences
- practice speaking
- make boys and girls interact with each other (instead of having all boys in one side of the room and all girls in the other)
- enjoy an interview activity
First I read the sentences one by one and they repeat. The Japanese teacher explains the words they don´t know.
Students should complete the sentences using the activities listed in the box.
Once they are ready, we move to the interview activity. They are supposed to ask 8 students (only one question to one student). Before that, they have to choose another 8 activities to complete the 8 questions they will ask (they are supposed to guess their friends´ answers).
After they finish asking eight friends, they sit down and count how many points they got. The student who has more points at the end wins (or, you can choose a random number to be "today´s lucky number", write on a piece of paper at the beginning of the class and hide in your pocket until they count how many points they got).
This is for 2nd graders (Junior High School).
If you have any comments, I would be happy to hear them!
