Bad Romance (Lady Gaga) - Present Simple Practice + Listening ((2 pages)) ***fully editable
I used this ws with my elementary ss after introducing a lesson with the present simple. Instead of reading the rules I simply presented the song and they had to choose the correct word she´s singing. Then they used the lyrics as a model to complete the sentences with the present simple in the affirmative, interrogative and negative forms. My ss are between 14 and 16 y.o. and Lady Gaga is their favorite singer. This song is a great hit in Brazil. I told them there are some "bad" words in the song, which we don´t usually use in public. However, since they watch the clip, listen to the song and know it by heart I wasn´t introducing anything new. In addition, my focus was in the listening and the grammar and I don´t use translation in class. They loved the class and there were only very few mistakes, so I assume they learned more with Lady Gaga and her song than they´d learn with "plain grammar rules".
