How many ....game
This is a very simple and easy card game for practicing ‘how many …?’ questions and ‘ I have …….’ answers with young students. You will need to have worked on numbers qualifying nouns before playing the game, ‘three bananas, six oranges, etc. Print out the cards and cut them into individual pictures. Pre-teach the lexis, oranges, bananas, etc. (You can change the pictures if you want to teach other vocabulary as the game is fully editable). Then, pre-teach the question and answer phrases: “How many …….do you have?” and “I have ………” Mix up the cards and deal them all out to the students. Give the students a little time to arrange their cards so they can put all the same cards together and then begin. Ask ‘how many ….. do you have?’ the students should raise their hands in turn and say ‘I have ………’ You can give a point to the student who has the most or to the student who answers with the best pronunciation.
It is a really easy game for young learners and is fun for them. If you are short of points just remember the rules and make you own cards, don’t download mine!
