Here are some uses for the poster.
Give each student a copy of the poster and they ask each other or the teacher “What’s the … doing?” and write the ing verb beneath the picture.
They can also ask questions such as “What did the dog do yesterday?” or “What will the dog do tomorrow?” “Who (What) is playing basketball?”
Have lower level students write Q and A in their notebooks “What’s it (the dog) doing?” “It’s playing basketball.” After the teacher checks their work they write the target word under the picture. I put a spoiler in so look out for those flying fish.
Have higher level students write longer sentences in their notebooks such as the sentences suggested inside.
After this give them one of the worksheets to complete.
