This story is designed to provide practice pronouncing and listening to American English vowels and diphthongs, using minimal contrasts. This allows the student to concentrate on the different vowels. I have provided IPA pronunciations and short definitions of the target words. I plan to make a Power Point presentation with audio to assist non-native teachers. Iīll include the link when Iīve uploaded the Power Point, hopefully tomorrow. It will also be entitled Berta and Her Pet Bat.
