Have you...yet?
The aim of this activity is to help your students understand when to use “yet” and “already” for Present Perfect. First, ask you students to say who they see in the picture (a sergeant and a soldier), then ask them to read the example. Ask them when do they think they need to use “yet” and “already”. If they need some help, mark the sentences with “?”, “+” and “-” to show that we use “yet” in questions and negatives and “already” in affirmative sentences. Then ask your students to make a dialogue between a soldier and a sergeant, use the ideas below. It´s more fun if you ask your students to put some emotion into their dialogue. Ask them to pretend that they´re really in the army: “Yes, Sir!!!”
