Pirates and the things they have got Pirates and the things they have got

These are three reading comprehension texts for beginners who learn how to use "have got / has got". The three texts tell about three pirates and what each of them has got. Before the students were asked to read the texts they were given a word list. We learned the words in class through miming. Then the three texts (a number of copies in three colours) were sellotaped to the walls of the school corridors and the students were sent there to read the texts and fill in a grid. Back in the classroom, they discussed their findings and then started to write their own texts.
