This worksheet enables the pupils to concentrate on the simple past and past continuous - it develops their written comprehension too and thanks to exercise n° 3 , they are encouraged to practise their written expression .I also ask my pupils to practise the reading of exercises n° 1 and n°2 ; to apply phonological rules to these paragraphs ( stressed syllables - intonation - segments of meaning - pronounciation of short vowels , long vowels and diphthongs ) . Finally they record the two texts + their own anecdote .
