Animals and Adjectives!
In this exercise, students use adjectives to describe animals and then write sentences about them. I found this to be only the beginning; After doing adjectives, I was able to use the same animals to teach them how to create sentences with verbs and adverbs as well. Soon, instead of just writing "The spotted cheetah is fast," they were able to write "The spotted, dangerous cheetah is running quickly." With your imagination there are a lot of activities you can do from this :)
