Important Verbs 1
It would be wise to act out each of the words so the students grasp the real concept of the verb. This is a list of important English verbs I used to write a short story about a desert vacation, as found below:
"The desert was covered in sand. It was hot, arid, and I was sweating. There was a cactus that provided shade but not very much. While I was resting, a scorpion crawled near my feet and I was scared. We stopped for only a short time. As we continued, we joined a camel caravan. I could see the pyramids in the distance. One of our horses was old and died. We left it in the desert and vultures swooped in quickly. At one point, I saw an oasis but it was only a mirage. We also passed the bones of an animal. We descended into a narrow canyon with rock walls on both sides. I heard something in the bushes. I was suddenly reminded of stepping on a rattlesnake hiding in a tumbleweed during my visit to the Grand Canyon."
