Black Books - Manny´s First Day (Season 1 Episode 2)
A vocabulary and comprehension worksheet based on the Black Books comedy series. Great for introducing colloquial English and phrasal verbs to your more advanced students, and getting them listening to English as it is spoken by the natives! The series has a lot of visual humour as well, and my students love it. I also use this episode as an opener to discussing performance at work, performance reviews, trial shifts etc. in a business context. I have also had students doing performance review role plays, with one student pretending to be Bernard and one pretending to be his boss - a great way to liven up what can sometimes be a bit of a dry subject in business classes. Complete with answer key.
