Freedom Now by Tracy Chapman (Tribute to Nelson Mandela)
Freedom Now by Tracy Chapman was dedicated to Nelson Mandela who spent more than 25 years in prison. It was first sung in 1988. It is a good introduction or a follow-up activity to the film "Cry Freedom". It can be used when dealing with South Africa, Nelson Mandela etc.... The gap-fill exercise is to get students to simply revise some very simple grammar items such as verb tenses or synoyms and antonyms.
