Oral practice based upon retelling newpaper articles
These are two very interesting newspaper articles about a man who fell into coma when the world was still at Cold War and woke up 2ß years later in a completely different world. The other one is about a "healer" in India who became the victim of a crime.
On the basis of the texts students improve their speaking skills (See below). My students have always enjoyed this lesson.
1) Read the text, look up words and read the text closely so that you can retell it in as many details as possible.
2) Tell the story to somebody from the B-group (Important: You must not look at your text when retelling) and answer your partner’s questions.
3) Take turns (you listen and ask)
4) Swap texts, read your partner’s story and compare it to what you were told.
