Past Continuous Tense Through Camp Songs
Teach the Past Continuous tense to your class using the camp song Herman the Worm, the first 4 lines of which are a great example of the tense. My classes loved this lesson (they were quoting lines from the song for weeks afterward) and they seemed to really understand the tense as well. As I canīt really convey the tune of the song through this site, you can try YouTube-ing "Herman the Worm" for an example, or use the lyrics to do a jazz chant with your class.
