Write About Yourself
This is a great way to either cap off a year of grammar (as an overall review) or begin a new year (as a refresher of last yearīs grammar). Students first try to think of as many words as possible that are related to themselves (p.3). Then, they convert those words into full-on sentences, which they write into the boxes on the "Sentences About Me" WS. This process makes them think about parts of speech and parsing. Last, they use those sentences to write a letter to their future selves in 20 years. (If this is used at the beginning of the school year, this could instead be a letter to you, the teacher.) Sorry if I made any mistakes labeling parts of speech. Feel free to change those, and let me know. :)
