Martin Luther King Jr. Complete Lesson!
The complete lesson for those teaching Martin Luther King Jr, and his "I Have a Dream" speech. 7 pages. I started out this lesson with a bio of his life with multi-choice questions which I downloaded off this site, and then gave each students his whole speech. As there was no time to read the whole speech, I gave them a summary (which I wrote, so it´s original!) Then I copied out the famous part of his speech into 7 paragraphs and had the students listen to it and fill in the blanks - one blank per paragraph. Then the students match up a given word with a word from each paragraph that has a similar meaning, and write whether it´s a noun, verb or adjective. If time, can get students to repeat the speech after you to practice speech-like public speaking.
Pages 1-4: Whole speech (unedited).
Page 5: Speech Summary (written by me).
Page 6: Listening comprehension and vocabulary/parts of speech worksheet based on the speech sample.
Page 7: Answers to page 6. See the preview for the whole of page 6 to see if you like it - page 6 is where all the activity is at :-)
