Party Invitation: Conversation Activity
Bob is having a party, and you´re invited! Each student receives 1 sheet containing just ONE detail about Bob´s party (and they´re all different) for example start time, place, who is invited, dress code, what to bring and so on. Students go around the room asking other students 1 question each, such as ´what time does the party start?´ If the student has the answer on their sheet, they must give it, otherwise they say ´I´m sorry but I don´t know´. The first student to find all the details about Bob´s party is the winner. You can draw Bob on the board to get students´ interest, tell them a little bit about him or ask them to make up some info about him or ask a student to draw a picture of a boy on the board. You can use this lesson also to teach about culture and how parties are generally done in your home country, e.g. do people usually arrive early, late or on time; what is an appropriate gift for the host, does everyone uisually contribute financially for the food, dress codes and so on. There is also a small writing task at the bottom of the sheet. Answers provided.
