Hostagesī true stories: vocabulary, speaking, reading, writing activities and facts about the Stockholm Syndrome
These worksheets are aimed at getting vocabulary about hostages ( captors, captives...etc) and arenīt aimed at leading to political debates or controversy WHATSOEVER. I took 2 examples: ingrid Bettencourt and Patty Hearst who are both famous but who reacted differently to their captivity. Patty Hearst suffered from the Stockholm syndrome and ended up committing robberies with her captors...The worksheets comprise various activities ( cloze etc...) and are addressed to adult learners or high school students. THE KEY IS INCLUDED.
This can help students when they watch the news in English language or read newspapers , as taking hostages is unfortunately very common nowadays. Mind you, it dates back from the Ancient Rome...and we see it regularly in films... I hope you ll find my work useful. Have a good day :)
