noughts and crosses
The same rules apply as in traditional noughts and crosses. It is up to you whether the students have to get 3, 4 or 5 of the same symbol next to each other. Note that if you choose 5 than the game lasts longer. If you decide on 3, several rounds can be played on the same sheet.
If students want to mark one of the squares they have to say a sentence using the verb and the phrase in the appropriate squares. E.g,She has been eating that cake for ages!
There are words/phrases that invite other tenses (e.g. yesterday at 5 o´clock) so this also revises other tenses. This is an ideal warmer or cooler which can be palyed in pairs and used on more than one occassion. Enjoy!
