Roll Say Keep - Reading or Spelling Game
To play, you just need some word cards that fit into the spaces on the board. Place 1 card on each space and have a pile beside the board for refilling spaces each time a card is won.
1) To play a reading/sight word game, place cards face up. Students roll a dice and if they read the word in the space matching the dice correctly, they keep the card. If incorrect, the card is read to them so that they may attempt it again on another turn.
2) To play a spelling game, place the cards face down. Students roll the dice and an opponent reads out the word for the player to try to spell. If correct, the player keeps the card. If incorrect, the player is shown the card so that they may attempt it again on another turn.
NOTE: Many games can be played using this board, eg; Using word cards - put the word in a sentence or say the word and say a rhyming word. Maths games too are possible, eg; cards could have a number fact on one side and the answer on the other for easy checking. I hope you find this as useful as I do.
