2011 Chinese New Year Gala (with 26 questions; from GLOBAL TIMES)
This reading worked well with my students in China. They are second year, university English majors. All had watched the 2011 New Year Gala. I paired the students and asked them to ask and answer the questions. Toward the end, we stood in a group and students shared more general comments about the New Year performances. For shy classes, this could be done in groups of 3-5, depending on classroom size.
