Mayan Gods Project
This activity can be used for Social Studies content, or for an introduction into pre-Columbian literature, as I use it. I use the same activity for another class on Greek gods (see other printable.)
The students must research using encyclopedias a Mayan God/Goddess and then create a poster about it. I make them use the encyclopedias to practice their reading, note taking, and summary writing skills. My students just love to copy and paste from the internet-and this project does not allow that! They must actually READ and WRITE!!! :)
