The Simpsons for teaching ING VERBS
I made this worksheet, to review the present continuous verb tenses. It is based on a short Simpsons video clip, which was made by someone who posted it on YOUTUBE.
I created the worksheet.
I show the video two times and have the students write down what they saw.
Then I ask the students for actions that they saw. For example, “What is Bart doing? What is homer doing?” What is the family doing?”
This part is easy for most of them.
Then, I stop the video after the “Did you understand?” because there are a lot more actions such as Homer is shouting, Marge is looking at homer. Homer is looking in the ice ream box.
This worked well with my students. They loved it.
You can also download the video clip from YOUTUBE, save it on your computer, and burn it to a DVD to show in class if you have a TV and a DVD player. I have a projector in my classroom which shows the video on a screen. I think I am lucky to have that. If you don’t, download it and show it on a TV.
You can also print it out and have a paper copy to give the students.
