Five Green and Speckled Frogs
sing the song with your class. Repeat it a few times so they can sing it themselves. The finger actions are one hand held up with five fingers extended and resting on the other arm (the log) then hand to mouth to eat a ´bug´ then 1 finger dives in pool, swimming action for ´where it was nice and cool´ and then 4 finger ´frogs" sitting on the log and continue until there are no speckled frogs, which you act out by holding your hands out open in front of you. then students colour 5 green frogs (counting and colour recogniton) and paste them on the log. you could copy the frogs on coloured paper to save time, or focus on the counting, or copy them on a few different colours and pre cut them, mix them up and have the kids choose only the green frogs for the log if you are focusing on colour.
