How it works:
5 Tables – all get 4 copies of one worksheet (m3-m7)– backside up – picture of the character can be seen (not at the police/detective) table
Characters cut into 4 pieces each (m2)
distributed among the students
students find the table with their character
they take a worksheet
read the texts alone
discuss them in group
write down the sentences in the past progressive
compare their answers
Everyone goes to the table with their number – now there are 4 different characters at each table. They hold the worksheets in front of their face (they can read the answers and the others see the characters� face)
One detective goes to each table and asks each person one question (Where were you between X and Y o� clock). He/She makes notes (use m8/m9)– then does another round – and another round.
Each detective makes a guess and explains to the class why he/she thinks the murder is...
