Cut the paper into strips of two words. Put them into a cup and student take it in turns to describe the two words, Very good for compare and contrast exercises. If necessary write choice expressions on the board (e.g. they are both nouns/verbs ... one of them is ... the other one is ... they are to do with ...). If they arenīt ready or capable of speaking effectively you can use it as a listening comprehension exercise where you read out the words and they try and guess what they are.
