This is part of a unit I prepared for my Students. The idea was to improve pronounciation by focusing on stressed syllables and unstressed syllables in the conversation between ´Mr Townsend´ and ´Roger Thornhill´. The students used the extract from the film as an audio comprehension first. Then the video with subtitles as akaraoke. Of course they found it difficult because they were using a French model of intonation. They realised that to improve their speed they had to change the way they spoke. This document is used with a highlighter pen for stressed syllables and a pencil for unstressed forms and links.
