Super Mario Battleships
Print and photocopy. Put double-sided tape on the back of the characters for easy classroom use (or students can glue the pieces). Students put their characters anywhere on the board but keep it a secret from their partner. The goal is for students to find their partner´s characters by making sentences to find out if their character is on the selected square. Students make sentences starting with either because, since, or as, and then choose a row and then column to make a sentence. You will notice students´ fluency improve with this activity.
