This is a 4 page W/S that introduces the learner to the concept of cleft sentences and pseudo clefting. The good thing about these sentences is that they give special emphasis to some particular information. In a way, it can be compared to intonation in spoken language. I have selected intermediate for the level. It is probably best for upper-intermediate and above although some aspects are easier than others and you may want to isolate these for lower level learners. I have made sure there is practice after each point. Hope it is useful! Happy teaching!!
