Song: Common People activities
I prepared these activites to focus on language: meaning of "common" and the subtle differences with other apparent synonyms like "ordinary" "regular" "normal" "typical", as well as some expressions with "common".
The song works as an "into" more than the objective itself, since itīs quite simple for this level. Thatīs why the listening activities are note-taking, withouht the lyrics of the song, at least the first listening. I recommend the cover by William Shatner since itīs much clearer and easier to understand.
The last two pages contain definitions and expresions related to common and its various possible synonyms. They were taken from Merriam Webster and Macmillan dictionaries and are meant as reference for the teacher to help students with the vocab activities but I guess they could be provided as a glossary to the students after they conclude the tasks.
