Lesson idea: Where is it?
Use this worksheet to teach prepositions.
First, the teacher can draw the two mountins on the board and draw a stick man in various location asking the student "Where is the man?"
The students should answer "He´s on/in/etc the mountain."
Next, give the student this worksheet. Once more, go over each preposition and get the students to draw the man in the proper location.
Next, you can play a game. Draw the mountains on the white board again, but don´t draw any men. Make teams of 6 and give each student a character card (use something that the students will find relevant). Stick a magnet to the back of each character.
Line up the team in front of the board and say "The man is on the mountain... etc." The student should put the man in the corresponding location on the mountain. If the student is correct, he sits down and you ask the next student comes and does the same thing. If the student is not correct, he goes to the end of the line.
To make this game competitive, you can use a stopwatch and keep time for each group.
The kids really like this game is you give them interesting character cards.
Hope someone finds this useful, and if you make any changes, let me know. I always want to make my lessons better!
