Robert Frostīs "Design": Sonnet Worksheet
I use this worksheet to teach Robert Frostīs sonnet "Design" as a part of my 3 week unit on American Modernism. This activity fills a 48 minute class period, and asks students to label rhyme scheme and similes within the piece, as well as analyze what Frost is saying. We first listen to a reading of the poem, then go back and define any unfamiliar language. It is important to display a copy of the document on the overhead or doc. camera so students can see how the teacher annotates the poem on the board. Enjoy!
