"Lamb to the Slaughter" Essay Assignment

After reading "Lamb to the Slaughter" and answering post-reading discussion questions, I assign my students this five paragraph essay. The assignment calls for them to answer the following question in their thesis: in what 3 ways does author Roald Dahl use irony within "Lamb to the Slaughter"? This way students can discuss one example of irony in each of the three body paragraphs, while also including 2 quotations from the text in each body paragraph to back up their claims. Enjoy!
