Connect Four Sentence Game
A fun take on the classic game! Divide class into two teams ("X" team and "O" team). Students get a point for their team by correctly combining a sentence, saying it out loud (subjects are vertical, predicates are horizontal). They have to start out on the bottom row (canīt jump to the top!) and try to get four in a row, (horizontal, diagonal, or vertical), while keeping the other team from getting four! Really fun! I play this with my adult class--be sure and have a prize for the winners (I like Lifesavers :))!
