Grammar tales (to be)
I am a teacher from Russia. Russian grammar is radically different from English grammar. It is impossible and not necessary to explain children why the sentence is constructed in such a way, but not another one or why we use certain words. One of the difficult themes is a conjugation of the verb TO BE in present tense. The fact is that in Russian there is no the verb TO BE in present tense. In Russian the verb TO BE is normally omitted in the present tense. For example sentence ´I am a teacher´ in Russian sounds like: ´I teacher´. To interest children, I’ve written grammar tales about the train and the city TO BE.
