This activity is based on the song "People in my town" by Peter Weatherall (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBXaupIJHr8). My young students love this song. 1) First I fix all the job words (2nd and 3 rd page) on the whiteboard using magnets and then I put the students in two teams. They come to the whiteboard and stand in queues. The two students that are in the first position can take the word from the blackboard when they hear it in the song. They keep the word and go to the end of the queue and the competition goes on until all the words are taken. The team that has gathered most words is the winner.
2) Put students in pairs and distribute the strips of paper. They have to order the first sentence halves first (1-12) and then they match these with the second sentence halves (bold printed). The first team to finish, wins. After that we sing the song together.
