Minimal Pairs Pronunciation Booklet (for Asians learning ESL)
Pronunciation activity for ESL learners of Asian (esp. Thai) background. The booklet has words that differ only in the initial or final consonant. Different consonant pairs are contrasted, particularly the consonant pairs that Asian (esp. Thai) people find difficult to differentiate. The consonant pairs in this booklet are:
R- & L-, Z- & S-, V- & W-, Ch- & Sh-, -d & -t, -b & -p, -g & -k, -n & -l
Each consonant pair has the following activiites: Listen and repeat, minimal pairs for pronunciation practice, listening exercises with the minimal pair words in sentences.
