BLACKY--The Runaway Water Buffalo
Written by the same student who wrote ESCAPE, this story describes the family´s water buffalo and her eventual return, but not before the family consults the writer´s deceased grandmother.
Students should prepare the text before class and then ask and answer questions in class in pairs.
My second year English majors had a lot to say about this story, particularly commenting on how culturally familiar they were with the story´s comments.
