Writing Workshop 1 (for elementary students) Writing Workshop 1 (for elementary students)

This year I have a 90 minute writing workshop with a group of 6 students every week (for 4 months). They are in the 7th grade (3rd year of English), but they canīt write. After two lessons teaching them how to work with the dictionary (see "Dictionary Work" series), I started with simple sentences and word order - students had to order jumbled words into sentences and then join them into a paragraph using "and" and "then" (daily routine context). After underdstanding the sentence structure, I gave them some sentences in Portuguese (not included in the worksheet) and they had to translate them into English. I wanted them to understand the differences in terms of word order in both languages (for example, in English adjectives come before the noun and in Portuguese they usually come after it). At the end of the lesson they wrote a short paragraph about their daily routine successfully. KEY INCLUDED. Wish you all a nice Sunday. Hugs, mena:)))
