Conditional chains - zero and first
I don´t really remember where I got this idea from. I usually play these chains at the lesson by giving each student one sentence, let them finish and ask them, to pass on their paper to their neighbour. The neighbour starts the 2nd sentence with the end of the 1st, and writes a full conditional sentence. Than he folds the paper so, that the next person can´t see what the first sentence was, and passes it on. After going through many people (if it can be followed, than when everybody gets back their paper), we unfold the paper and everybody reads their chain. Usually we have a great laugh with this exercise.
This worksheet here is a "homework" version of this exercise. In my opinion, more useful than gap filling, especially with conditionals, which for many student is so difficult to understand. With this exercise I can convince them that the conditionals are not as dreadful they imagine them to be, and when correcting I´m not bored, but enjoying the original thoughts of my students:)
Hope you find it useful too! (a sheet with 2nd conditionals is coming soon)
