TV Advertisement Challenge
Writing a TV advertisement is a great way to practice using descriptions and imperatives (“buy this!” “take a look!” “call this number!”). In this challenge students will give short (30 seconds ~ 1 minute) presentations to the class in the form of a TV advertisement for one of seven fake products. The worksheet (which includes instructions for setting up the activity) guides students through every step of the process and helps them come up with ways to better describe their products´ strengths. This was one of the most successful roleplay activities I´ve done with my high school students and everybody got very excited about the presentations. I hope you find it useful too.
