| | Mixed future forms - a story about winning the lottery
This worksheet tells a story and asks the students to complete the gaps with various future forms. In some cases, the student only needs to add the auxiliary, sometimes the main verb too. It distinguishes going to vs will for predictions, but both are acceptable for future plans or intentions. It also includes will for instant decisions and present continuous for future arrangements.
The second part of the story allows the student to read the whole text again with no gaps, and asks them to pick out examples of all different kinds of future.
As the story contains a lot of direct speech, it could also be used in a reported speech exercise.
