Used To by Daughtry
A worksheet to practise listening, focusing on the ´used to´ structure. Used this in a class after introducing and practising ´used to´ for past habits. The worksheet asks students to match couplets in the verse, then order the lines, and then to complete missing words. It gets progressively more difficult.
I played this first with audio only, breaking down the verses and the chorus to give the students the chance to listen carefully. I then played the video with the lyrics on screen so that they could check. If you look on Youtube there are lots of versions of this song, with and without lyrics on the screen.
The class really enjoyed the song, and it´s repetitive enough to really hammer home the ´used to´ structure.
