Linking Ideas Lesson
Students can make their sentences more complex and have a better flow when they use words that indicate how two ideas relate or link to one another. Words such as "whereas, therefore, however, nevertheless, and concerning" are commonly used in everyday speech and help more formally indicate if two ideas are contrasting, contradicting, supplimenting, or follow logically from one another. This lesson broadens students abilities to link ideas outside of the standard "and" and "but" words and makes their speech more interesting and natural sounding.
