animal memory game
option 1- memory game
option 2- karuta - Karuta is a japanese traditional game and I have adapted it into teaching material. T spreads two or more sets of cards for every group of three Ss on a table as has Ss to sit around it. T reads out the name of the animal and Ss have to try to get it before the others. The student who gets the picture card (or cards, as each S is allowed to get as many cards as he/she can) has to repeat the name of the animal as many times as the number of cards he/she was able to get. To make it more chgallenging, T may have Ss to say a sentence about the animal he/she got. Another idea is: have Ss to repeat a sentence already decided by the teacher, for example: I saw an elephant; or I like elephants... depending on the sentence pattern the teacher wants to drill or depending on Ss level.
My file was too big and I donīt know how to reduce its size (yes, I am that stupid!!) , so I had to divide the pictures of animals into three files. They are called: animal memory game (this one), animal memory game 2 and animal memory game 3. So you will have to print the three of them to have a satisfying number of cards. Have fun!
