WHAT WHERE WHEN
The teacher must decide before the activity what Grammar point will be practiced (Simple past, simple present – 3rd person, future – will or going to…) and tell the students. The sheet must be folded in the dotted parts so that the students can’t read what is written in the other parts of the table.
Each student receives a sheet and write five (or other number) sentences in the first part “WHAT”. The sentences must have a noun and an action (i.e.: My dog eats rice and beans…. Or…. Mary likes to sell socks….). When all the students finish, the teacher take the sheets, mix them and return another] where the students will complete the second part with some places in “where” blanks (i.e.: in a desert island in Pacific Ocean… in front of church ….). When they finish, the sheets are mixed and returned again to complete the activity. They must write different “times” in WHEN blanks. It’s important that the students remember to follow the instructions given in the beginning of the activity about the Tense (i.e.: During a very strong storm… or… After Obama’s speech).
After take all the sheets, the teacher can open them (or ask the students to do it) and read the funny sentences that were made. (i.e.: My dog eats rice and beans in a desert island in Pacific Ocean during a very strong storm; Mary likes to sell socks in front of church after Obama’s speech.)
